Space-Based Images Depict Iranian Navy and Atomic Sites Struck by Joint US and Israeli Strikes.

Multiple US and Israeli attacks has allegedly sunk or crippled no fewer than eleven Iran's navy ships starting Saturday, freshly analyzed aerial photos demonstrate, with rocket sites and enrichment plants also coming under fire.

Photographs of the southerly Konarak naval base and the Bandar Abbas installation, which overlooks the strategic Hormuz Strait and is home to the headquarters of the Iran's naval force, show black smoke pouring from a number of vessels on recent days.

Naval Assets Incurred Major Damage

Included in the vessels destroyed was the IRINS Makran, the country's biggest warship which had served as a unmanned aerial vehicle platform. Orbital photos showed thick smoke pouring from the vessel which had been docked at the Bandar Abbas naval base.

Analytical evaluations indicate that no fewer than a quintet of warships at Bandar Abbas were "struck or destroyed". Photos of the southern part of the port depict plumes ascending from the Makran, while additional vessels seem to be harmed, with one seen burning.

Over at Konarak, images display several damaged vessels, with analysis pointing to damage to six ships. Photos from Monday also indicate that multiple buildings at the installation have been destroyed.

"For a long time the Iran's leadership has disrupted international shipping," the head of US Central Command said. "At present, there is not a single Iranian vessel underway in the Arabian Gulf, Hormuz Strait or Gulf of Oman, and we will continue."

Some vessels reportedly sunk may have been hidden in satellite images by weather conditions or battle damage, or targeted offshore, and have yet to be fully confirmed. Separate reports indicated that an Iranian vessel was sinking off the coast of Sri Lanka's territorial waters, prompting a search and rescue mission.

Rocket Bases and Atomic Facilities Attacked

Eliminating Iran's rocket sites and the stopping enrichment activities were listed as further objectives of the offensive. Satellite images also revealed impacts against the southern Khorgu and north-western Tabriz missile missile bases, and at the Konarak air base, where rocket warehouses and fortifications were hit.

At the Choqa Balk-e drone drone base to the west of Kermanshah, significant damage was identified to sheds, bunkers and UAV launching apparatus.

Destruction was also observed at a surveillance station at the Zahedan airbase military airport in eastern parts of the country, near the frontier with neighboring nations.

Perhaps most notably, the most recent series of strikes have apparently focused on sites at the Natanz complex – considered at the center of the country's nuclear programme. An international watchdog commented that the affected structures were used for access to the site's underground enrichment facility and that "no radiological consequence" was expected.

Wider Consequences and Assessment

Observers stated that the offensive appeared to have "greatly reduced" the Iranian navy's ability to carry out conventional attacks using its largest warships. Nevertheless, it was noted that Tehran retains the capacity to launch irregular strikes at sea through the use of unmanned aerial vehicles, midget subs and its so-called "ghost fleet" of tankers.

The overall scale of the damage caused to Iranian military infrastructure is still uncertain, with strikes reportedly persisting. Imagery also reveals considerable destruction to the command center of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) in the capital Tehran.

Numerous of public facilities also are reported to have been struck in the capital and across the country since the conflict escalated. Toll estimates from inside Iran state that many hundreds of civilians may have been lost their lives in the strikes.

As the situation develops, review of aerial photographs will carry on to document the unfolding scope of damage.
