Iran is ready to restart nuclear discussions with Washington on condition that it is handled with "respect" and "respect", Tehran's top diplomat has stated.

Following this, Western states employed their authority to reimpose UN-wide sanctions, but Iran insists they have not had a significant effect.

Perfect Agreement Proposed

Tehran representatives claimed they felt they had reached a "magic solution" to the enrichment issue in previous talks, when it was decided an domestic cooperative with US participation could process nuclear material. Both sides would have been able to declare success since domestic enrichment would have persisted and the US could be assured that Iran's enrichment initiative was entirely non-military.

It had not been agreed in the discussions that American atomic experts could function on Iranian soil, but that was a logical implication of the partnership suggestion. Representatives stated on multiple occasions they had achieved a deal with the US representative the US official only for the arrangement to fall apart due to "opponents in the US".

In what is described by Iranian officials as the conflict of recovery and reconstruction, the foreign minister claimed he was confident Iran's defence capabilities "are considerably enhanced than preceding 13 or 14 June of this year. All our capabilities have been rebuilt. We acquired multiple understandings from this engagement; we have come to know our personal limitations and the weaknesses of the enemy."

He stated: "We successfully passed this conflict. Our nuclear technology, which they aimed to eliminate, stays intact. The sites and equipment, if destroyed, will be rebuilt; what is crucial is the will of the nation of Iran and then the national cohesion that they sought to undermine, but did not succeed to break. The citizens of Tehran have become stronger, more cohesive, and more endorsing of the government and the state in the face of this attack."
