Beloved Performer Pat Finn, Known For Parts in Friends and The Middle, Has Died at the Age of Sixty.
Stateside performer Pat Finn, who was seen in popular TV shows including "Friends", Seinfeld and The Middle, has succumbed at 60 years old.
The skilled improv artist succumbed at his home in LA on Monday having undergone treatment for cancer since 2022, as reported by news outlets.
"Pat Finn saw everyone as a friend - just potential friends he didn't know yet," his loved ones stated in a statement.
They added that he had "experienced life to the fullest - with happiness and energy".
A Notable Career on Screen
Finn's first television role was on the George Wendt Show in the mid-90s, where he appeared as the lead character's sibling.
He also had a recurring role on Murphy Brown between 1995 and 1997.
He played the part of the character Joe Mayo in Seinfeld in 1998, depicting a social organizer who would assign unpleasant chores to his guests.
During the end of the 90s and start of the 2000s, he made guest appearances on several well-known programs, like:
- "King of Queens"
- Friends
- That '70s Show
- "House"
Finn was perhaps best known for portraying Bill Norwood in The Middle, starring in eight seasons from 2011 to 2018.
His cinematic roles include It's Complicated (2009) and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups.
A Life in Improv
Away from his on-screen roles, Finn was deeply involved in improvisational comedy and also taught at the Colorado university, where he was a professor.
He was a member of a six-person improv troupe called "Beer Shark Mice".
"He taught, supported, and inspired numerous pupils over the years and you'd be hard-pressed to find anyone who has a bad thing to say about him," his family wrote.
Paying homage, colleague and actor Richard Kind noted there was "nobody more kind, gentle, and humorous, grounded individual you could encounter".
"Perpetually optimistic, helping you be funnier and better. An excellent dad and person," Kind wrote on social media.
Finn is remembered by his wife Donna, three children, and his parents and siblings.
