In a unexpected collaboration that breaks traditional predictions, Ubisoft has revealed an in-game collaboration between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the renowned anime series Attack on Titan. The surprising Thanksgiving event runs from November 25 through December 22, offering free bonus story content for Shadows players.
Peculiar Mission Revealed
According to the official statement, "An unusual confrontation draws heroes Naoe and Yasuke into a new adventure, where whispers of banned ceremonies and monstrous changes resonate through the shadows." The narrative introduces a "strangely garbed woman named Ada" who assigns the pair with traveling into the Crystalline Cavern—a important location from Attack on Titan—to liberate her companion from a clandestine sect.
The mission centers on "strange experiments and a fearsome foe" and is available to all players who have acquired the Yasuke character.
Familiar Settings and Transformations
The preview highlights the Underground Chapel from Attack on Titan redesigned as the Crystal Cave. This historic location was earlier where the Reiss royal family handed down the Founding Titan ability through ages. The teaser finishes with a striking scene showing a character, likely the captive, morphing into a Titan that rises over Naoe and Yasuke.
Unique Rewards and Extra Material
Players who finish the quest will acquire an special katana alongside numerous artifacts concealed throughout the area in secret chests. The update also contains in-store Attack on Titan item packs, including:
- Titan-themed attire for Yasuke
- Mikasa costume for Naoe
- Unique weapons
- Survey Corps mount
Latest Free Story Update
This update also adds the game's latest free story content, titled "A Puzzlement." This playful mission partners Naoe and Yasuke as they swap characteristic abilities: Naoe reveals a performative interpretation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke learns non-lethal stealth takedowns. True to its name, "A Puzzlement" also contains a original environmental puzzle that may finally shed light on some lingering questions from the main storyline.
